Love? It is just a four letter word

yet it significantly preoccupies the whole world.

Many seek it, several find it

but many more seem to miss it.

It has the ability to bring true happiness

and it is always guaranteed to end even the worst loneliness.

May everyone never lack true precious love

and its many gifts like manner, as well as, the rainbow from above.

May everyone be always loved

and our every problem always solved.

Love? It is just four little letters

Life? It is something taken for granted by so many
but denied daily from strangers, friends and family.
Do we find time to appreciate the wonderful sun
or do we rather desire the fatal effects of a smoking gun?
Is a warm comforting smile too difficult for us to give
even when we know we would either die or live?
Why do our governments spend so much on defence
which in reality murders many and is awful pretence?
Does resolving conflicts through diplomacy still exist
or are we more desirous in letting conflicts persist
in order to enrich a few whose greed is like that of the beast?
Have we recently admired the beauty of the sky
or the creative order in which migrating birds fly?
Have we recently marvelled at the sight of blossoming flowers
or cherished the replenishing effects of spring showers?
Trees are an amazing and wonderful sight to behold
either in the tropical sun or in the temperate cold.
Have we delighted in the fascination of great architecture
or been mesmerized by interesting landscapes and nature?
What is life? It is the beauty we see and comfort we feel
despite the horror we experience and pain we conceal.
We should all learn to appreciate the life we possess
even while we try to improve everything about ourselves.
